We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Health & Safety Advisor—or an experienced Safety Coordinator ready to take the next step in their career—to join our team. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will play a critical part in supporting our managers and employees to create a safe, compliant, and productive workplace.
We’re looking for someone who can build strong relationships across the business, provide practical safety guidance, and strike the right balance between operational needs and safety requirements. This is a hands-on role that combines safety leadership, incident investigations, compliance, documentation, hazard management, and coaching to help drive positive safety outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Champion safety across the business, working closely with managers and employees.
- Provide practical, hands-on advice and guidance to support safe and compliant work practices.
- Conduct incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Proactively identify, assess, and manage workplace hazards and risks.
- Lead safety initiatives, audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
- Maintain accurate safety records, documentation, registers, and reporting systems in a predominantly paper-based environment.
- Develop and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and educational programs.
- Monitor safety performance, analyse trends, and recommend improvements.
- Support managers with safety matters and help ensure legislative and company compliance requirements are met.
- Foster a positive safety culture by coaching and educating employees on their responsibilities and safe work practices.
About You
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a WHS/HSE role.
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety.
- Highly organised with strong administrative skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Comfortable managing documentation and compliance records within a paper-based environment.
- A strong relationship builder who enjoys working closely with managers and employees across all areas of the business.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to balance operational requirements while maintaining strong safety outcomes.
- Experienced in incident investigations, hazard management, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
- Confident in educating, coaching, and influencing managers and employees on safe work practices.
- Not afraid to have honest conversations and provide clear guidance on safe and unsafe behaviours.
- A practical problem-solver who can develop workable solutions that support both safety and business objectives.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance obligations.
- Comfortable working both on the workshop floor and behind the scenes managing the administration that underpins compliance.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
- Australian permanent residency or citizenship required.
